Location: San Antonio, TX
Project Size: 342,000 ft2
Jesse Garza led the design of Earl Warren High School, a 342,000-square-foot campus for Northside ISD serving 2,400 students on a heavily wooded 77-acre site. Thoughtfully planned to integrate academic buildings with athletics fields, parking, and outdoor facilities, the school includes general education classrooms, fine arts, science, CTE, a library, auditorium, and comprehensive athletic spaces. The three-story main building establishes a strong sense of arrival through an expressed structural entry and a prominent library/media center above, emphasizing stability, technological advancement, and the district’s commitment to learning. Inside, the building is organized around a central commons and mall corridor, linking dining, fine arts, athletics, and support functions on the first level, with academic spaces on the upper floors. Exterior materials—including fractured-face masonry and refined plaster—create a sense of permanence and maintain human scale across this large, modern high school campus.
